Your tour guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel. Visiting Terracotta Warriors Museum which lies in Lintong District, Xian City. The museum covers three pits with the total area of 22,780 square meters. The terracotta warriors and horses that shows a surprisingly high level in craftsmanship and sculpture are the most significant archeological excavations of the 20th century. It is a sight not to be missed by any visitor to China. Then will see the Huaqing Hot Spring. After Lunch,drive to the Banpo Neolithic village, this New Stone Age site, dating from approximately 5,000 to 4,000 B.C., is one of the most complete examples of a Neolithic agricultural settlement in the world.
After the visitng, we will drive back city to Xian Ancient City Wall. After one day’s wonderful Xian trip, you will be transferred to your hotel in Xian.
Terracotta Warriors and Horses
Also named Terracotta Army, the Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses are a collection of terracotta sculptures depicting the armies of Qin Shihuang, the first Emperor of China. They were buried to protect the emperor in his afterlife. The Terracotta Army were discovered in 1974 by local farmers drilling wells for irrigation. The figures vary in height according to their roles, with the tallest being the generals. The figures include warriors, chariots and horses. There are an estimated of 8000 soldiers, 130 chariots with 520 horses and 150 cavalry horses buried in three pits. Other terracotta non-military figures were found in other pits, including officials, acrobats, strongmen and musicians. The Terracotta Army is one of the most significant archaeological excavations of the 20th century in the world. It was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987.
Banpo Neolithic Village
Banpo Museum is the first prehistoric excavation site museum in China. The site was discovered in 1953 during the construction of a power plant. The Neolithic Village, occupying an area of approximately 50,000 square meters, was divided into three parts: the living area, the pottery making area and the cemetery area. It is a typical Neolithic matriarchal community of the Yangshao Culture dating back about 6,000 years, during which people living here used tools made primarily of wood and stone. It is the earliest known agricultural village in China.
